Shortly after midnight on Tuesday, Feb. 18, first responders were dispatched to Oak Road West in Lake Secor, when a fire ravaged a one-story home, Jack Casey, spokesman for the Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department, said.

Upon arrival, firefighters found the house fully engulfed in flames, with the residents outside the home.

Fire crews, who were hampered by low-hanging wires that required NYSEG ’s assistance, had the flames knocked down by approximately 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning.

Casey noted that members from the Carmel Police Department, firefighters from Putnam Valley and ambulance crews from Mahopac Falls and EMStar also responded, along with NYSEG.
